Islamabad: Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi has expressed his disappointment over the lack of serious engagement from government officials regarding the party's demands over Palestine issue. In an exclusive interview with the YouTube channel "News Inside Speaks," Rizvi stated that while there have been administrative-level talks, these discussions have ended without any results.
Rizvi's demands include the official declaration of the Israeli Prime Minister as a terrorist by either the Prime Minister of Pakistan or through a parliamentary resolution. He emphasized the importance of this symbolic act in expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people. Rizvi also assured that routes for Muharram processions and the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi remain open despite the ongoing sit-in at Faizabad Interchange.
Rizvi stated, "Muslims do not fight with economic strength but with the power of faith." He criticized the limited government response to their demands, which aim to bring attention to the plight of Palestinians and condemn Israeli aggression.
Background:
TLP has been holding a sit-in at the Faizabad Interchange for the past five days, presenting three primary demands:
- The official declaration of the Israeli Prime Minister as a "terrorist".
- A government ban on Israeli products.
- Dispatching food and medical aid to the people of Gaza.
Rizvi pointed out that the TLP leadership has engaged in three rounds of discussions with DIG-level administrative officers, but these talks ended without any agreements. He urged citizens to understand the significance of their inconvenience, framing it as a minor sacrifice in solidarity with the Palestinians.
When questioned about the feasibility of their demands, Rizvi argued that the Prime Minister or the Parliament should officially label the Israeli Prime Minister as a terrorist, stating, "The world needs to recognize the true terrorists who have killed thousands of innocent Palestinians."
Boycott of Israeli Products:
Rizvi also called for the boycott of companies that openly support Israeli military actions. He dismissed concerns about potential unemployment resulting from such boycotts, asserting that "the value of human lives surpasses the cost of two meals a day."
Humanitarian Aid:
Rizvi highlighted the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. He proposed utilizing maritime routes if land routes are obstructed by Israeli forces, reinforcing Pakistan's ongoing efforts to support the oppressed in Gaza.
Conclusion:
The TLP leader reiterated the necessity of addressing these issues to support the Palestinian cause and called for serious government action. He underscored the need for faith-driven initiatives over economic considerations in the struggle for justice.
